(13:01:54) PsyonicRutabaga2: it developed during a time when 98% of the populace believed in creation, the absence of free will, and that God was in control
(13:02:47) PsyonicRutabaga2: the trad. story embraces that and acts like a comfort blanket to the masses, a swadling cloth against the cold hard truth that the universe is random chaos on the large scale and order only egists in the details
